Engagement/ Marketing Director

Our client is a prestigious Ad Agency in NYC.

The Engagement Director is responsible for helping to define the client’s overall digital strategy. The job requires that close attention be paid to how the digital channel works to bring to life the brand positioning and overall campaign communications architecture. This includes determining which digital and social platforms will be leveraged and defining/refining the role for each with the communications ecosystem. Once the strategy is established it is the digital/social strategist’s responsibility to: define the content strategy required to bring the platform strategy to life, write creative briefs, and work with creative and user experience leads to develop the creative and user experience required to bring the channel to life. This position is client-facing and requires strong client presentation skills.


  • Develop digital/social marketing strategies
  • Determine digital/social channels to be leveraged and ideate tactics that align with digital strategy
  • Understand how digital content moves through today’s digital landscape and define relevant and impactful content strategies for client’s digital channels (including website)
  • Know that content is king and go that extra mile to ensure that our clients’ content solutions will have impact
  • Write inspiring creative briefs and brief in-house teams or partner agencies to develop the content/experience needed to bring channels to life
  • Monitor trends in digital and social media
  • Help populate digital/social customer profiles and personas; identify unmet needs, hypothesize key customer problems/digital solutions
  • Work with the analytics group to report insights gained and effectiveness of digital activities
  • Evaluate websites and other digital experiences based on qualitative design/functionality assessments as well as quantitative performance metrics
  • Create clear, compelling content for client presentations, POVs, and other deliverables
  • Participate and run client workshops, presentations, and other working sessions as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues from a range of disciplines including Strategy, Creative, Account Management


  • 7+ years of experience: marketing, advertising, market research, consulting
  • Experience in cardiovascular product marketing/strategy
  • Strategic planning experience (pharmaceutical advertising) preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Proactive, dynamic, hard-working, entrepreneurial
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong client service skills (for both internal account/creative teams and external clients)
  • Proficient multi-tasker – able to handle assigned projects as well as consulting within department
  • Team player attitude
  • Mentor junior staff
